The first time as I installed the 1050cc engine it didn't take long before worrying sounds started to pop out from the engine. It sounded like some of the bearings were worn out and they were as we found out dismantling it. Crankshaft was machined and new bearings were bought. New thrust bearings were modified from some old Hillman's bearings becouse new thrust bearings for Fiat 127 couldn't be bought anymore.
At this point also the enginehead was lowered 0.3mm and some of the valves were replaced with new ones.
New pistons were needed to regain the lost compressions and cylinders were bored 0.4mm oversize.
Crankshaft, flywheel and clutch were balanced to ensure stability on high rpm.
